STL girls meet up in Chicago

The women's teams at DePaul and University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) will meet up tonight in a battle of Chicago schools.
There will be a distinct St. Louis flavor in this Chi-Town battle as area girls play key roles for both teams.
One of DePaul's top players is 6'3" junior Felicia Chester (pictured, left), a former standout at Incarnate Word Academy. UIC features former Normandy High teammates Jasmine Bailey (pictured, right) and Shameia Green, who are both starters. A fourth St. Louis player, Rachel Pierson (a former IWA teammate of Chester's) is also on DePaul's team, but has been battling injuries.
In DePaul's first six games, Chester is averaging 19.8 points, 7.7 rebounds with a team-high 16 blocks. Felicia could always swat some shots. She is also shooting 56 percent from the field.
Bailey and Green have done a fine job for the Flames. a 5'9" sophomore forward, Bailey is averaging 10 points, nine rebounds and two assists a game. Green, a 5'7" guard, is averging 7.6 points and two assist a game. Together, they led Normandy High to a berth in the Final Four of the Class 5 state tournament in 2007. Both were also named to the Horizon League All-Freshmen Team as well.
