My "St. Louis Knicks"

The National Basketball Association has reached the "quarter-pole" mark of the season, so it's a good time to update you on former local prep stars David Lee and Larry Hughes, who both play for the St. Louis, oops, I mean New York Knicks.
Both players are enjoying productive seasons and have been in the middle of the Knicks' recent three-game winning streak this week. After a dreadful start, the Knicks have been showing some signs of life in recent games and my boys have been up front and center in the Knicks' recent surge.
The 6'9" Lee (Chaminade) is currently averaging 18 points, 10 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 57 percent from the field. Hughes (CBC/Saint Louis U.) is coming off the bench to average 12.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He assists to turnovers ratio is a very good 2.5 to 1.
Both have been very good in the last three games, all Knicks victories. In last night's 93-84 victory over Portland, Hughes had 21 points and six rebounds while shooting four of eight from the 3-point line. Lee had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
In NY's 106-97 victory over New Jersey, Hughes had 25 points (16 in the third quarter), four rebounds and four assists while Lee had 24 points and nine rebounds.
Lee had 18 points and 12 rebounds while Hughes added 16 points and seven assists in the Knicks 114-107 victory at Atlanta.
It's always good to see the local boys represent on the NBA's big stage.
