Friday Night

Columbia Rock Bridge will face McCluer North in the championship game of the Troy/People's Bank Classic tonight at 8:30 p.m. The Stars have won the last three Troy Tournaments, but Rock Bridge looks every bit the part of a state contender during the early season, averaging more than 90 points a game.
Hazelwood East will face Troy for third place while Riverview Gardens will play Francis Howell in the consolation final. Holt will play Timberland for seventh place.

St. Charles West will play Fort Zumwalt South in the finals of the St. Charles West Warriors Classic tonight at 8:30 p.m. West is led by 6'7" junior Christian Kirk while South is led by junior guard J.R. Alexander and freshman standout Jordan Swopshire. In the third-place game, Ritenour will take on Fort Zumwalt West.

The semifinals of the National Bank/Webster Groves Classic will be held tonight. The host Webster Groves Statesmen will take on Belvidere North (Ill.) at 7 p.m., followed by Kirkwood at Lee's Summit North at 8:30 p.m.
The winners will meet for the championship on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

The semifinals of the Gene Steighorst/Hillsboro Tournament will be held tonight. Host Hillsboro will take on Francis Howell Central at 6 p.m. followed by DeSoto vs. Festus in a Jefferson County battle at 7:30 p.m.
The DeSoto Dragons have been bolstered by 6'8" sophomore Colin Ferguson, a transfer from Charleston, Ill. Ferguson and fellow 6'1" sophomore Jared White give coach Allen Davis one of area's top inside-outside sophomore duos.

The top individual game of the night will be St. Francis Borgia at Jefferson City Helias in a battle of Class 4 state Final Four participants from last year. Borgia won the state title while Helias finished third. Helias defeated Borgia by two points at Borgia last year, so the Knights will be looking to return the favor.

On the Illinois side, Edwardsville will host Belleville West tonight in a key Southwestern Conference battle of undefeated teams. Edwardsville has a big and talented team led by 6'6" senior forward William Triggs. Belleville West will counter with a strong defensive team led by versatile 6'5" senior Justin Clayborne.
