Lady Bills win two in a row

After suffering a three-game losing streak, the Saint Louis University Billikens women's team responded with two impressive victories in the past three days.
The Billikens defeated Montana 72-55 in the third-place game of the Courtyard by Mariott Los Angeles Westside Thanksgiving Tournament in California. Senior center Amanada Kemyzys (Belleville East) enjoyed a big performance with a game-high 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the Billikens. The 6'4" Kemezys was named to the All-Tournament team.
On Monday night, SLU defeated Arkanaas State 79-70 in a very entertaining game at the Chaifetz Arena. Several Billikens got in on the scoring act as five players scored in double figures.
Leading the way was senior guard Katie Paganelli (picture), who scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers. Junior Lauren Woods (Belleville East) added 17 points while Kemezys added 14 points and a career-high 19 rebounds. Forward Kathryn Hester and guard Jacy Bradley each scored 13 points.
Former Kirkwood High standout Shania Hurst scored 13 points for Arkansas State. Teammate Meghan Lewis (McCluer South-Berkeley) added nine points.
The Billikens are now 3-3.
